Join us for the Light Up Fest, an enchanting community event brought to you by Autin Dance Theatre in partnership with Midlands Arts Centre – MAC Birmingham. This annual celebration premiered on Saturday, 30th November 2024, at the Cannon Hill Park, and promises to light up the season with creativity, performances, and joy!

What is Light Up Fest?

Light Up Fest is a culmination of weeks of workshops and collaboration with local community groups, families, and schools to create stunning lanterns and glowing art pieces. The festival celebrates the collective creativity and spirit of our community, blending arts, storytelling, music, puppetry and movement in an unforgettable evening.

Event Highlights:

1. Lantern-Making Workshops:
Drop-in on the event day at MAC to craft your own glowing willow and paper lantern **no experience needed!**

2. Lantern Procession:
Watch as hand-crafted lanterns of all shapes and sizes illuminate Cannon Hill Park in a breathtaking parade, accompanied by guest performances.

3. Celebration Event at MAC Outdoor Theatre:
End the night with an exciting celebration featuring live music by EIF, dazzling lights, dancing, and refreshments to keep the festive spirit alive.

4. Accessibility & Family-Friendly Fun
Light Up Fest is designed for everyone to enjoy! The event is family-friendly, accessible, and features British Sign Language (BLS) interpretation, ensuring inclusivity for all attendees.
